José Gregorio Baquero

He has been working with CMI since 2009 as a consultant, principal adviser, and non-executive member of the Board of Directors. In 2018, he assumed the position of CEO of CMI Foods.

José Gregorio brings with him 22 years’ experience at Booz Alle Hamilton/Booz & Co. as an advisor in the food industry around the world, focused on developing and implementing new growth strategies, channels, Go-to-Market models, improvements in the supply chain, and organizational transformations in the consumer goods, food and beverage industries.

He started his career at Booz Allen Hamilton in Caracas, Venezuela in 1994.  He became a partner in 2000 and moved to the Dallas office in 2003 to lead the firm’s global relationship with several multinational consumer good companies and to work with family corporations in Latin America.

Between 1989 and 1992, he was a Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble in Venezuela.  He was responsible for strategy development and implementation, marketing plans, and managing large projects related to his brands.

He holds an MBA with honors from Wharton School of Business, Pennsylvania, and previously studied industrial engineering at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
