The ISO 37001 certification, granted by AENOR, reaffirms CMI’s commitment to the fight against bribery, promoting an ethical and transparent culture.
CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones receives the ISO 37001 certification, a recognition that validates its Anti-Bribery Management System, reaffirming its firm commitment against corruption and bribery. This important milestone, delivered by the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR), an entity recognized worldwide for its excellence in the execution of certification audits for anti-bribery management systems, aligns with the corporation’s REIR meaning “laugh” in Spanish (Responsibility, Excellence, Integrity and Respect) values and strengthens the culture of ethics and transparency in all its operations.
“At CMI, we are committed to integrity and transparency in all our processes. This achievement is part of our efforts focused on promoting an ethical and responsible culture inside and outside the corporation, contributing to the well-being and sustainable development,” said Monica Leal, Director of Risk and Compliance. She also adds that CMI will continue to strengthen its Anti-Bribery Management System, extending these good practices to other countries where it has a presence.
ISO 37001 certification: a commitment to anti-corruption and anti-bribery at CMI
The process to obtain this certification began in May 2023, with CMI’s formal declaration in the fight against corruption, and culminated in October 2024. During this period, the corporation implemented rigorous control and awareness measures, achieving a high level of compliance with the standards required by ISO 37001, which reinforces the strength of its institutional commitment.
The certification process involved an exhaustive audit and the teamwork of all employees, including the commitment of senior management, the Board of Directors and shareholders; “this process was a challenge that required resources and effort to identify risks, implement controls, raise awareness and train all layers within the corporation. We are proud to receive the certification because it is a reflection of CMI’s commitment to the fight against bribery and corruption,” added Mónica Leal.
AENOR, the entity in charge of the certification, is an internationally recognized organization in certification, validation, verification and inspection through an outstanding track record with more than 150 global accreditations in various sectors, which ensures the validity and relevance of the certification obtained by the corporation.
By obtaining ISO 37001 certification, CMI not only ensures compliance with local and international laws and regulations but also demonstrates its ability to act as an agent of change. “This certification will allow us to prevent bribery in our processes and promote an ethical culture both outside and inside the organization, which positively differentiates us from our competitors by demonstrating a commitment to integrity and transparency in all our business relationships,” concluded the Director of Risk and Compliance.
