Panadería Las Victorias: Over 130 years of baking tradition, now strengthened by innovation

March 13, 2026

The story of Panadería Las Victorias is an example of how family legacy and training can go hand in hand to drive business growth. With over a century of history, this company has strengthened its offering thanks to the technical support and specialized training it has received from CMI-Corporación Multi Inversiones.

Facing the historic Concordia Park, in the heart of Zone 1 of Guatemala City, Panadería Las Victorias has built a history that combines tradition, passion for the bakery craft and a vision to evolve.

With 135 years of history, this family business has kept alive the recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation, becoming a benchmark for those seeking the authentic taste of traditional bread.

Over the decades, the quality of its products has been the result of a clear philosophy: respecting its legacy and, at the same time, opening up to new opportunities to learn and improve. Along this path, Molinos Modernos has been a key ally for more than fifty years.

“More than just a supplier, the relationship has been built on the foundation of close and constant collaboration, where flour quality is complemented by technical support and training to strengthen bakers’ capabilities”, explains Lourdes Flores, Head of Human Resources.

Lessons to grow

With the goal of continuing to innovate without losing its essence, Panadería Las Victorias decided to invest in training its team. Two of its bakers participated in a specialization program run by Cocreo, a Molinos Modernos training initiative that focuses on building technical knowledge and creativity in baking.

During a year of training, the participants learned new techniques and developed a variety of recipes that were later added to the bakery’s catalog.

The result was immediate: new offerings, greater variety for customers, and a natural evolution of the business. This process also led to the creation of a dedicated specialty bakery area, thereby expanding its product range and allowing the company to respond to new consumer preferences.

Today, Panadería Las Victorias remains true to its roots while looking to the future with enthusiasm. The expansion of its product range and the growth of its clientele reflect how the combination of tradition, training, and strategic partnerships can transform a family business into a sustainable evolution model.

Stories like this reflect how, when knowledge, quality, and a willingness to learn converge, businesses not only grow but also strengthen communities and keep alive the essence of a craft passed down through generations.

Currently, CMI is led by the third generation of the family, with Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga as Chairman of CMI Foods and Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez as Chairman of CMI Capital. They reaffirm their commitment to continue investing to promote sustainable development, creating opportunities to grow together through programs and projects that foster entrepreneurship.
