July 7, 2025

CMI’s multigenerational legacy driving sustainable development across Latin America and the United States is recognized by the 2025 BRAVO Business Awards.

CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones has been honored with the BRAVO Business Legacy Award for being a multigenerational company with operations in 15 countries and a significant impact across Latin America and the United States. The award, granted by the Council of the Americas (COA), will be presented to Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, Chairman of CMI Foods, and Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez, Chairman of CMI Capital, on October 16 during the 30th anniversary of the BRAVO Business Awards gala, which celebrates transformative leadership and business excellence in Latin America.

A story of vision, impact, and commitment

The recognition highlights CMI’s outstanding 100+ year trajectory, from its beginnings in Guatemala as a family-run poultry and milling business to its evolution into a multilatina corporation with operations in 15 countries, over 50,000 employees, over 3,500 restaurants and selling point, out of which 137 restaurants belong to the Pollo Campero brand in the U.S., and leadership in strategic sectors such as food, renewable energy, real estate development, and financial services.

“Receiving this award is an honor we share with our employees. It is a recognition of the work of generations who have believed in building purpose-driven businesses, committed to innovation, sustainability, the well-being of our people, and the communities where we operate,” said Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, Chairman of CMI Foods.

Through its business groups, CMI Foods and CMI Capital, the corporation drives projects that generate investment, employment, and sustainable development. Its impact extends from Central America to the United States, where it has strengthened its presence through key initiatives such as the acquisition of Del Real Foods and the expansion of Pollo Campero.

“This award reflects our commitment to long-term value creation. At CMI, we believe business should transcend, and this recognition inspires us to continue bringing our corporate purpose to life: to generate, with a warm family warmth, opportunities that change lives,” said Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez, Chairman of CMI Capital.

The award also acknowledges the work of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, CMI’s social arm, which has transformed thousands of lives in the communities where the corporation operates through programs in education, health, nutrition, and food security—reaffirming the legacy of the founding family and the values that guide the organization.

The gala will bring together multinational leaders, government officials, entrepreneurs, and investors to celebrate the legacy of companies that drive economic and social development across the Americas. CMI will be recognized alongside other leading organizations such as Mercado Libre, Embraer, and FedEx, for their transformative impact and forward-looking vision.

The 30th edition of the BRAVO Business Awards marks a milestone for the Council of the Americas, which since 1995 has honored more than 200 leaders and companies whose work has shaped the region’s progress. In this context, the award to CMI validates its role as a catalyst for economic growth with social impact, demonstrating that ethical, visionary, and committed leadership can transform generations.
