  • The fourth edition of the “Expo Food Service” event had over 350 attendees who participated in specialized presentations, demonstrations and networking opportunities that strengthen the culinary sector in Guatemala.

Nestlé Professional and CMI successfully held the fourth edition of Expo Food Service 2024, a key event for the food and beverage industry in Guatemala that brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs and gastronomy experts. This year, the event once again stood out as a favorable setting to present innovations, establish new strategic partnerships and promote the development of the culinary industry.

The Food Service 2024 Expo offered a unique platform for industry professionals to learn about the latest solutions from Nestlé Professional and CMI. Both portfolios were the key players on a day marked by learning and innovation. Nestlé Professional presented its new 100% Guatemalan bean coffee specially designed for its Nescafé coffee makers, as well as its new range of Maggi Professional seasonings that seek to revolutionize operations in its customers’ kitchens. On the other hand, CMI impressed with the launch of its brand of premium pork cuts “Héroes del Fuego” (Kings of Fire), highlighting the Toledo quality that distinguishes the brand.

Industry innovation and trends

Among the great attractions of this edition were the specialized talks that addressed current industry issues and global trends. María Isabel Ramos Abascal, a specialist in Neurogastronomy, gave a talk on how this discipline is shaping the future of culinary businesses, highlighting the importance of sensory experiences in the success of food products. In addition, attendants benefitted from a panel of renowned local restaurateurs, including Jorge Lazo (chef and owner of Restaurante La Maison), Jonathan Sánchez (chef and founder of Japanese Restaurant Naru), Telma Cáceres (chef at Intecap), Euda Morales (journalist and chef) and Enrique Ruiz (founder of La Sociedad del Asado), who shared their perspectives on the new opportunities and challenges facing the sector in Guatemala.

The event also featured Cooking Shows at the Nestlé Professional stand, where local chefs demonstrated product versatility and their applications in innovative and effective recipes for daily operations in commercial kitchens.

Networking and strategic partnerships

Beyond product presentations, Food Service 2024 Expo provided an essential opportunity for attendees to interact and create new business relationships. The Nestlé Professional and CMI stands were meeting points for entrepreneurs, chefs and restaurateurs, where the latest trends were discussed and business opportunities were explored.

The success of the event was not only confirmed by the number of attendees, but also by the quality of the interactions. This year, brands such as McCain Food Service Solutions participated, which complemented proposals with their innovative products, and increased the number of options for attendees interested in optimizing their operations and offering novel solutions to their customers.

« Food Service 2024 Expo allowed us to reaffirm our commitment to quality and innovation in the Food Service industry in Guatemala. Through our products and solutions, we seek to facilitate the growth and success of our business partners,» said Juan Diego Estrada, Food Service Commercial Manager for CMI.

«It is exciting to see how each year this event becomes further consolidated as a benchmark in the industry, not only to present new solutions, but for the added value that the talks and networking opportunities provide to participants,» said Caridad Barillas, Manager of Nestlé Professional Guatemala.

Food Service Expo has become established as a fundamental platform for the evolution of the foodservice sector in Guatemala. This event allowed attendees to stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations, as well as to make strategic connections that will drive their businesses into the future.
