laUcmi: A decade transforming lives
Recognized as the first Latin American corporate university certified by The Learning & Performance Institute (LPI) in London, laUcmi continues to be a strategic pillar of CMI’s organizational development. Since its creation more than a decade ago, it has trained over 30,000 employees across Central America, the United States, and the Caribbean through flexible, innovative, and high-impact learning experiences.
The partnership between laUcmi and INTECAP has proven highly valuable and strategic. Through a relationship built on trust and collaboration, both organizations have adapted training content to business needs, implemented practical simulation-based methodologies, and ensured effective learning experiences aligned with operational realities.
Graduates highlighted the immediate application of the knowledge acquired throughout the program. Car, truck, and motorcycle drivers strengthened their safe and responsible driving skills; refrigeration, air conditioning, welding, electrical, and maintenance teams optimized preventive and corrective maintenance processes; and forklift operators and warehouse personnel reinforced safe practices, contributing to improved productivity and enhanced quality standards.
One of the main challenges participants faced during their training was coordinating schedules and transportation to INTECAP facilities, which required discipline and organization. However, these challenges were successfully overcome through collaborative planning, logistical support from team leaders, and flexible scheduling arrangements.
A program that reflects our REIR Culture
Graduates identified practical mastery of tools and equipment, enhanced industrial safety practices, stronger teamwork, discipline, and the pride of representing CMI with technical excellence as some of the program’s most valuable outcomes.
This initiative is also a reflection of the REIR values that guide our corporate culture. Throughout the program, participants demonstrated Excellence by applying their learning with commitment; Responsibility through the proper use of resources and adherence to safety standards; Integrity in their actions and decision-making; and Respect in their interactions and collaborative work.
At CMI, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting programs that strengthen both the technical and soft skills of our employees, creating opportunities that transform lives and contribute to a sustainable future for all.
Currently, CMI is led by the third generation of the family, with Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga serving as President-Chairman of CMI Foods and Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez serving as President-Chairman of CMI Capital.
